Rip Em 'Off or clip with scissors or clippers. It hurts for a minute. They have some practice, antiseptic and a bandage. :-)
I cut a couple of small scissors. In fact, it is not harmful, it is difficult to do. It is hardly necessary to go a doctor for something so insignificant.
